Can you confirm if this is correct, native EN? It doesn't on the face of it sound like it!

COMMENT ONLY, NFG

The reason I suspect this may not be native EN is because I think I know what they are TRYING to say!

IF this is to do with propeller shafts and stern glands, then there is indeed a thing called a 'rotating seal (stern gland)' — sorry, right at the moment I can't locate the FR document from which I recently had to translate this, but if I find it, i'll get back to you. In the meantime, it might at least help you if you were looking for the right thing.

Please confirm correct context before I waste my time on a wild goose chase!

If it is indeed a 'rotating seal' stern gland, then thet FR term I have for it is 'joint tournant' — this came from a reputable FR boatbuilder
Note from asker:
oui, c'est malheureusement de l'anglais ;-) Merci pour le commentaire more context: Slide the mechanical sealing rotary unit backwards on the shaft. {1494}•{1495}Install the mechanical sealing rotary unit on the shaft.{1496} Push the bearing housing assembly against the mechanical sealing rotary unit. and thanks again, Tony
