français translation:
illustrations
anglais term
housing artwork
J'aurais besoin de votre aide pour l'expression en objet dans le contexte "AT21823 SERIES 1800 IN ATEX APPROVED HOUSING ARTWORK (FOR REFERENCE ONLY)" qui est l'intitulé d'un schéma d'une pièce mécanique.
Merci pour votre aide!

Proposed translations
illustrations
graphismes / écriture / inscription
It it were solely text, then I think 'écriture' might be a good solution (basically 'lettering')
If not, then you might be able to use 'inscription' (= 'marking')
If the artwork clearly includes some purely graphic elements that can't be classed as 'lettering', then 'graphismes' might be a possible solution.
Merci Tony pour toute votre aide toujours très précieuse et extrêmement navré de ne pas pouvoir vous attribuer les 4 points car le terme "Illustration" m'a paru le plus approprié. |

: pas dans une feuille de spécifications où la rigueur est de mise

But who said anything about 'feuille de spécifications'? Asker said this is a "schéma d'une pièce mécanique"!! And it's not a question of 'rigueur' or not — this is a standard way in idiomatic EN of saying that something is "for information only".

: There is no way (especially with the added context provided by Asker) that artwork could = fabrication here; that's just not natural EN at all.

Discussion
It's not that it necessarily changes the translation of 'artwork' — but it certainly simplifies it, not having to try and qualify it with 'housing'
Fabrication avec/du boîtier agrée ATEX
Indeed, Artwork is in the next line, separately. In this condition what is artwork translation?
I think you need to consider this as "in ATEX approved housing" and then "artwork (for reference only)".
Quite why there would be any 'artwork' on this 'housing' is something only your overall context will clarify, but my understanding would be that this drawing shows artwork on the housing, which is however intended only as an illustration — i.e. there will be a separate, accurate drawing of the artwork for actual use in execution.
It clearly makes sense for a 'housing' to be 'ATEX approved', whereas it would be nonsense to say that the 'artwork' would be 'ATEX approved' — well, unless it was some official form of wording for a warning sign or somesuch; but I doubt that very much!
