J'ai trouvé plusieurs traductions possibles pour ce verbe, et je ne sais pas laquelle est la plus appropriée.
"Banks are able to charge relatively higher interest rates to opaque borrowers once the bank has sunk its initial relationship cost. This may still be beneficial for the firm as otherwise the firm woiuld need to incur the sunk cost of investing into a switch of bank."
Apparemment, "sunk cost" se traduit par "coût irrécupérable" (fonds perdus). Quant à "to sink", j'ai trouvé "investir"et "amortir"...

Ce n'est pas un verbe mais bien "the sunk cost".

Dans la première phrase, il s'agit bien d'un verbe, à entendre "amortir". La répartition dans le temps du coût initial d'une immobilisation est qualifiée d'amortissement
