Most Google sources I can find seem to suggest 'active' for powered; as for 'external', 'déporté' is just one suggestion, there may be a better word...

As VJC and Aligisan have kindly pointed out, I was so proud of myself getting the agreement right on 'actives', I forgot about 'déportées' --- my apologies!
