E.g. positive connotations of "a league of his own" can mean "he's so unique in his kind that no one can compare", but negative connotations can point to "he's an anti-social loner, who has his own "league". Don't you think context is extremely relevant?

the reason why i think that questions without context cannot yield any appropriate answer is that a phrase/word can be used for both positive and negative connotations in different contexts.

please, always provide with context. in "this" respect, what respect?��in "a league of his own" basically means somebody who is "on his own", or "alone", but this meaning can have positive or negative connotations (thus different Chinese translation)

Being in a league of one\'s own 的意思, 可為褒, 也可為貶. 若為褒, 則可說是 \"獨樹一幟\"；若為貶, 則可說是 \"一意孤行\". 要決定譯法, 得看前後文如何連貫, 提問者有整個文本, 當然知道如何裁量. 同仁的建議只是參考.
