How do you distinguish "memory of" & "memory to" in Chinese?

What message should "memory" suggests? - exciting? comfortable? tiring? scary? - a message is hidden there somewhere, but what is it?
I simply miss the point what the writer wants to say!
And that's what my question really boils down to!!!
