English term

Dorothy

English to Chinese Tech/Engineering IT (Information Technology) Windows 8
Windows 8 now blows away the distinction between consumer and business tablet, simply by changing the fundamental basics of how we use Windows, and what the Windows front door looks like. ***No, Dorothy, you're not in Kansas anymore.***

Discussion

Echo Wu Sep 26, 2011:
clearwater (asker) Sep 26, 2011:
Dorothy

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/not_in_Kansas_anymore

From the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz in which Dorothy states "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore."
not in Kansas anymore
(idiomatic, colloquial, US) No longer in quiet and comfortable surroundings
As soon as I walked into that party I thought, "I'm not in Kansas anymore."

This sentence is talking about how windows 8 is different and a complete new experience for users. Which in the sentence: No, Dorothy, you are no longer in Kansas.--means, "No, user, you are no longer in the old windows format.“

No longer in quiet and comfortable surroundings。
‘Windows 8 now blows away 。。。’
