Is there any industry standard for translating numbers? I always kept them in English, but the client is asking for a reference now. Anyone can help?

Is it OK to repeat an answer? It has been observed that some members repeat answers that have already been provided by other members. Is it ethical at all? Why should I make a separate answer entry if my answer already exists there? Why shouldn't I agree with the member who already has provided the answer that I think to be OK?

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10... this is the proper pattern. I translate documents for remarkable a number of clients for a long. Among them a good number of clients provided me guidelines for translation. All of them, without any exception, suggested me to follow this pattern.

I am Amazon Certified Human Translation Specialist. As per International format, any number must be in English. But it can be localized as per the clients requirement.

But you should remain confident about International format. If client asks for localisation, you may do that.

It clearly mentions: "Numbers should not be translated. This is applicable for decimals. A comma in numbers should be like 10,000,000. In Joomla! CMS Number is used as value."] Hope this helps!


P.S. My personal experience in that English is International and most speakers of Bengali would understand, but many of them will not understand Bengali numbers.
