Not quite sure if this means "was the obvious solution" or something completely different.

XXX indvilligede i en midlertidlig løsning, da en etableringaf linieforbindelse umiddelbart lå lige for.

agree Christine Andersen : The redundant 'umiddelbart' is what makes it ambiguous, but 'was imminent' is my take on it too.

agree Tine Wanning : I think "umiddelbart" is the main justification to give the phrase the time aspect. Normally "ligge lige for" means obvious, as suggested by the asker. But not in this case.
