NN skal give leverandøren meddelelse når en ny serie ønskes opstartet, hvilket typisk vil finde sted når der laves sidste afkald på foregående serie.

withdrawal
I think what is meant here is that the last withdrawal of products is made from a series/batch before the next series is started up.

: often suppliers keep stock for customers and deliver products in batches, when the customer orders it... it could also be "order"

Comment: "Thanks tons! Your answer helped me on the way! However, I decided in the end to re-word the sentence all together and translated it as "final orders" in this instance."

"called-for" ordered (requested)
When the last one in the series is made, NN notifies for a new series. That should mean what the previous was about, if it was "ordered," or "requested." I would say "called-for" is the litteral meaning.
