is fake evidence or false evidence α֤? I do not mean perjury here. I'm refering to giving non-true evidence.

Discussion

Denyce Seow Jul 8, 2004:
"False evidence" and "perjury" are two different things. When someone provides false evidence in a judicial or quasi-judicial proceeding, he or she is committing perjury.

Perjure

Another possible choice if your translation is more formal is to say perjure This doesn't mean the person has been caught committed the crime exactly but simply means lying in court. It is used for example

He perjured himself. or His testimony was perjurious

If your translation is not so fromal then just use "False witness" or other such translations as DEnyce suggested

伪造证据 or 假证据

The word Perjury means false evidence anyway. Can you tell us what do you think the differences are, if any?

I see. So one is an act. The other is a crime because you have sworn to tell the truth, according to the following definition:

The deliberate, willful giving of false, misleading, or incomplete testimony under oath.
伪证罪--在宣誓后故意提供假的、易引起误解的或是不完整的证据
The breach of an oath or a promise.
违背誓言或诺言

In which case 供假证,假造证据would also be what you may want.
We\'ll leave perjury to mean 伪证罪, then.
