“镇街政府”应该是“镇政府和街道办事处”。中国的一个市或县下边会设区（district)，区下面就是“街道”了。一般一个市下面会有很多镇政府或街道办事处。

从2006年第三季度开始，镇街的写字楼开发与销售，突然在东莞的写字楼开发量中占到了比较大的比重。行内人士分析表示，这不仅是因为随着镇街基础设施的逐步完善，土地供应逐渐向镇街倾斜，镇街日益成为房地产开发的热点。另一方面，发展商选择在镇街开发写字楼，也是镇街城市化发展的一项表现。据了解，2006年镇街写字楼开发与销售的热点区域主要是常平、长安、凤岗等镇街，这几个镇街经济的高度发展，商贸环境的渐趋成熟，酝酿了写字楼的生存空间。
