Chinese term
...研究员,大学,主要从事...
Chinese to English
Other
Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
This is from a technical paper footnote on the author's background. My question is how to translate "大学" here. Does this mean he is a researcher at a university, or that he attended university, or that he has a degree...?
Literally, it is "researcher, university, primarily engaged in..."
Thanks in advance for your help.

University Researcher

大学 is "university/college degree"
It reads like the bio of the author of the paper.
研究员 should be "professor" or "research staff". I believe that now China runs the same system as the US (not the British system anymore), namely,
助理研究员 - assistant professor
副研究员 - associate professor
(正)研究员 - (full) professor
The whole thing seems to be:
Title, Education (degree), Research Area(s) (职称,学位,研究领域)
