yes, I think so since this was happen in a village in China and there should be a lot of levee (ň猧出\\猠出\\(ぱ礛)≧縩出\\絏繷\\梆繷) etc where being treated as a meeting point/bus stop.
Perhaps bank of a pond/levee etc.
Based on the content, my guessing of bus stop should be very close to it.

Hi Bill, now I see your point, sorry for my misunderstanding.
But I still think that for the size of a 俄 in a village in Canton area, their size is usually rather small and not large enough to support 3 or 4 bus stops/terminal etc. and a bus route at that time would not design to serve/cover so many stops in a village, not even in nowadays standard (in my knowledge only :- )). Especially it looked like a long distance coach to go to major terminals for change of transportation mean to Hong Kong, so only one stop will be served in a village.
And in grammatical point of view, い could mean something like \"alreay/already in\" in Chinese. So I guess the asker\'s questioned only 俄膀 is already enough.

Another possibility after Bill\'s idea and perhaps this is much more logical too.
い means in the middle of 俄膀 and the bus stop was in somewhere else, as Bill said, perhaps south or north of 俄膀. the support to this new idea is the bus would not stop to wait for the author, so when the author saw the bus was in the middle of the 俄膀, that means the bus was not arrive the bus stop yet and the author still had time to walk to the bus stop after he saw the bus was in the MIDDLE OF THE LEVEE.

I agree with Euro that 俄膀 probably describes a physical location in the village ("bank of a levee" or "bed of a dry pond"?) and it is unlikely for this village to have multiple bus stops. I also agree with Bill that い is probably a spatial reference, not a time ref.
I don't know what the right answer is. But it is past us becasue I've finally finished and delivered this job.
