It is about databases which are copied at various factories of the same industrial group ! there is one master database and instances of it.

agree Ken Cox : Yes, a database instance is a sort of 'working copy' of a given database (users don't work directly with the master database). This question has been previously asked and answered, but I can't find the question.

databank facility

The English 'instance' is not equivalent to the German 'Instanz'. Generally, a 'behördliche Instanz' would be a 'government agency' , a "Gerichtsverhandlung in erster Instanz" is the 'trial court'', and here, it's just a databank set up for that specific purpose (probably an upgradable storage facility)

It sounds like they are talking of just the database itself. The 'instanz' may refer to the fact that they have equivalent databases elsewhere. However, as you are speaking of the privileges of the various users, I might just use the term database.
