By enlarging the vent the sound pressure level for low frequencies drops. If this reduction does not need to be compensated for as the hearing loss does not require a bass gain, the Open Fitting without compensation can be selected.
The pre-calculated bass gain based on the bore selected is then reduced in the bass range. This is accompanied by an emphasis of the speech range, very high frequency signal shares are lowered and a balanced dynamics attained.
