(the whole article is very interesting, however the functional translation offered is not a phrase really used in English).
There is no "equivalent" sayings in English; however, something along similar lines would be: "think before you speak" or "hold your tongue".
Personally, I really like a line from Arthur Miller's play "A View From the Bridge": "you can quicker get back a million dollars that was stole than a word that you gave away". IMO, I feel it conveys the sentiment, but that's just my view....HTH :-)
