What is the best term to translate "fase cerrado" in the following context?

“Latossolo Vermelho distrófico típico A moderado textura argilosa; fase cerrado, relevo plano e suave ondulado”.

Cerrado It's commonly agreed that Cerrado is sort of like favela and cachaça. We don't translated it. It's a typical Brazilian climate/vegetation, not found elsewhere in the world. So translating cerrado to savannah, for example is like translating favela with slum, and cachaça with sugar-cane brandy. Ok, but not really.
And, yes, it would be a good idea to add all the commas the author left out.

Leslie, Tem algo estranho nesta frase: "latossolo... típico A moderado textura argilosa". Ou os elementos não concordam gramaticalmente ou está faltando uma vírgula. Penso que é essencial entender isso antes de traduzir o que vem a seguir.
