Hingers

Non-PRO English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters Hingers
Time to turn on the old Hingers charm.

Someone is meeting some people for the first time, and trying to be funny and make good first impression. It is not meant to be offensive in any way.

Thanks in advance,
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (2): Lara Barnett, Christine Andersen

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Thank you all.
Lara Barnett Apr 27, 2021:
@ SJ I agree with David Hollywood, if this was changed to "Pro" it would get more useful feedback I am sure.
philgoddard Apr 27, 2021:
What is this person's name?
S.J (asker) Apr 27, 2021:
There no much context before or after the sentence could be useful.
philgoddard Apr 27, 2021:
It look like someone's last name or nickname, probably his. Hence the capital H.
David Hollywood Apr 27, 2021:
anyway np and just give us more context :)
David Hollywood Apr 27, 2021:
this is certainly not non-pro
David Hollywood Apr 27, 2021:
more context needed

Hinger= a name

Time to turn on the old Hinger's charm.

> So need to turn on my (or his) charm > Hinger has to be charming

Don't really see the difficulty unless this is NOT someone's name, either the person speaking or being spoken about.
Peer comment(s):

agree writeaway : I don't see the difficulty either. The "H" (as opposed on "h") backs your answer
