Juridicidade x Legalidade

Portuguese to English Social Sciences Government / Politics Legislative glossary

Lawfulness / Legality

According to Blacks Law Dictionary, the meaning of legal and the difference between the English terms lawful(ness) and legal(ity) is:

Legal means "warranted or authorized by the law; having the qualifications prescribed by law, not contrary to nor forbidden by the law; not illegal.

The primary distinction between "lawful" and "legal" is that the former contemplates the substance of the law, the latter the form of the law."

Blacks Law Dictionary, 6th Ed., p. 885.

Assim, juricidade = legality

legalidade = lawfulness

Juridical and Legal

I am sure that in English these are the forms that might work best here.

As adjectives the difference between LEGAL and JURIDICAL is that legal is relating to the law or to lawyers while juridical is pertaining to the law or rule of law, legal; judicial, related to the administration of justice (as to jurisprudence, or to the function of a judge or court).
