This term occurs in a novel and is used to describe a piece of property that is adjacent to a forest. I don't have any other clues as to its meaning.

We have virtually no context So unless the asker knows, it's really impossible to say whether this is a dilapidated building or one that has completely fallen down. Perhaps "ruin" is the best way to go here.

Considering it's a novel, the translation may need to be less literal.

I do not think the term refers to a condemned property or property that has been demolished because the property remains unchanged for 20 years.

Literally demolition site - from the English context it must have been cleared. If we don't know what the former building was (most likely an old house but...) then "building" would have to do

Dictionaries are too generic to be of any use. Some sources I saw suggest that "Abrissgrundstüc​​ke" are no less likely to be torn down than "teardowns". Why would anybody even mention "Abriss" otherwise?

Abrissgrundstück ist natürlich sinnlos, denn ein Grundstück (i.e. parcel of land) kann nicht abgerissen werden, nur was darauf steht
