Court ordered forfeiture of the Axe

Hello,

I have got a translation of a court letter with the judge's sentence. This was one of the point of sentence: "Court ordered forfeiture of the Axe". It was related to affray. It is in the UK, related to UK - England criminal law case. Could someone help deciding what this means exactly please? Every help is much appreciated.

I investigated that sentence and as it is it was a typo - the axe should have been lower case. Thank you for everyone the help and the time for looking into this!

Dear Asker, We all understand the nature of confidentiality but you can still show relevant parts of the text with the confidential details deleted by XXX... Otherwise I find it strange that nothing near the phrase is present in 5 or 6 recent or less recent paper- and on-line dictionaries, that of Black's Law D. and Oxford included. The phrase reminds me most of "forfeiture of assets" though. Please provide more background with confidential details deleted and somebody might be able to help.

Yes the Axe is in capital. Yes I have the whole
Enter in front of me but I would rather not disclose more as it is confidential. It was related to affray and the offender has been sentenced to - 12 months imprisonment,
-“court ordered forfeiture of the Axe” and
-pay court surcharge within 6 months
This is the most I can say.

Capital "A" Are you sure that Axe is written with capital A?

I don't know whether you can give more information about the case, but 1 sentence from a court letter is not enough as a context.
You have the whole document in front of you, future answerers don't know anything about the case...

Nyilvánvalóan garázdaságról lehet szó, s mivel kevés a kontextus az" axe" , talán a fejsze , mely az elkövetés eszköze lehetett, s annak elkobzási birósági határozata lehet a fortitandó anyag.

Igen én is eredetileg erre gondoltam, de verekedésről (affray) van szó nem garázdaságról és az “axe” nagy betűvel van mint “Axe”. Lehet hogy gépelesi hibáról van csak szó, azért utánna járok még. Köszönöm a segítséget és az időt, hogy foglalkozott vele.

Ha jól értem, a kérdezett kifejezés az ítélet egyik pontja, nem megnevezése (ordered, nem pedig order).

A többiekkel messzemenően egyetértve javaslom tisztázni, hogy pontosan miről van szó. Kérdés, hogy az ítélet szövegében korábban előfordult-e már az elkövetés eszköze, mert a határozott névelő (the Axe) arra utal, hogy az elkobzás tárgyát nem először nevezik meg a határozatban. A nagybetűs használat mindenesetre furcsa.

Vagy "a (fejsze) bíróság által elrendelt elkobzása". Pontos mondatkörnyezet nélkül nehéz megítélni.
