This is the name of a course in a high school accounting vocational program.
Other EN>ES KudoZ entries give "off-cycle transactions" but I'm not sure it's that.
As far as I can tell, in Mexico at least "operaciones especiales" encompasses various concepts, as shown by this coursebook "Registra operaciones especiales" (contents on p. 5):

The three main areas are: "Cuentas de orden y documentos descontados y endosados", "Mercancías en comisión y mercancías en consignación", "Registro de operaciones en moneda extranjera".
Is there any term in English for this, or will I just have to use "special transactions" (which sounds kind of shady to me!) or something similar?

Could be an option if you think that "special" sounds somehow shady. Otherwise I'd just say special operations/transactions and leave it at that. However, financial translation is not my area of expertise, and no doubt someone will come along soon with a better term.
Example sentence:
