Load-bearing or similar was my hunch too, but so far it's nothing more. It has to apply to not only vertical force, but also horizontal, and it has to be a technical or at least technical sounding term. Heavy duty may do the job.

Could "mayor responsabilidad" be refering to the higher tension a point could be submitted to? Could this be the reason why it has "mayor responsabilidad"?

If my hunch is right, then perhaps "heavy-duty" would serve as a translation.
