German term

Reurecht

German to English Law/Patents Law (general) Court Ruling
Not a clue. Has anyone seen this term? Here's the context:

Wird das (Widerspruchs)Recht zu einem Zeitpunkt ausgeübt, zu dem sich der Versicherungsnehmer in seiner Kenntnis erkennbar auf Schutz eingerichtet hatte und zu Produktvergleichen auch gar keinen Anlass sah, wird es in zweckwidriger Weise zu einem Reurecht umfunktioniert.

PS One more, see p. 8:
"Das Anfechtungsrecht ist kein Reuerecht."
http://www.jura.uni-muenchen.de/fakultaet/lehrstuehle/lorenz...

Side note: Wouldn't choose "right to repent." There are a few websites calling it the "right to/of regret" in connection with consumer protection laws; it's still a bit of a literal translation, but maybe that's "accessible":

Björn Vrooman Jan 19, 2018:
If you need something to describe it (because I'm not sure about the exact phrase right now), here's an idea:
"The court found that an indemnity agreement is not a blank check; it does not entitle the surety company to reimbursement for legal expenses which are unreasonable or unnecessary."
https://www.forcon.com/userfiles/file/ssfcc/2008/14.Burch.pd...

Indeed, "Anfechtung" is not a "blank check" to get out of an agreement.
Björn Vrooman Jan 19, 2018:
Andrew I think Michael's suggestion of adding the "e" can be of help to you, regardless of whether it shows up in your document.

Unfortunately, both of the answers don't adress the issue at hand:
http://lorenz.userweb.mwn.de/skripten/anfecht.htm

The point is that you cannot rescind a contract for reasons other than the ones permitted by law, or more specifically, the ones you stated for why the contract needed to be voided. It's a bad faith effort to try to get out of an agreement just because you don't like it.

Spelling was correct But I think it looks like the same thing. This seems to work here, judging from other hits I've found with your spelling.

The newly amended Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Consumers’ Rights and Interests (hereinafter referred to as the “Consumer Law”) has been formally implemented on March 15, 2014. As the first amendment of this law in the past 20 years, this amendment has received wide public attention. Among the revisions, provisions of online shopping, especially the “right to regret” which grants consumers rights to return of goods via online shopping within 7 days upon receipt without providing reasons, is considered to be a highlight one.
In Western countries, the right to regret is also called a cooling-off period. This right allows consumers to unilaterally terminate the contracts with the business operators, protecting consumers from suffering by information asymmetry during the transactions.

Similar but not the same as Cooling-Off Rule:

You don’t have to give a reason for canceling your purchase. You have the right to change your mind.
To cancel a sale, sign and date one copy of the cancellation form. Mail it to the address given for cancellations, making sure the envelope is post-marked before midnight of the third business day after the contract date.

If you want to cancel a service you’ve arranged online, over the phone or by mail-order, you get a 14-day cooling-off period - for example, if you've booked airport parking, hired a cleaner or gardener or asked a solicitor to sell your house or a plumber to service your boiler. During the 14 days, you can cancel for any reason and get your money back.

agree Björn Vrooman : Yes, this is one option. While I agree with Michael's "regret" ("repent" instantly reminds me of "atonement"), it's not "revoke." Andrew could adapt yours (cite it as an example or add "extend the cooling-off..."), but this is closest to my d-box post.

Thanks. Agree that revocation is missing the point. Emphasize the "remordere."

right to revocation

'Reuerecht' is the correct spelling. (Reue = regret?)

Compare with this:
"This area of consumer law, which the author uses as an example, is then compared to the right to revocation in German, Austrian and Italian law. In his study, Francesco A. Schurr focuses on the distribution of interests, distinguishing between the right to revocation as a marketing instrument, as a means of protecting the weak or as a way to compensate for an error made by one of the contracting parties....

disagree AllegroTrans : "right to revocation" gets zero ghits; "right OF revocation" as well as being gramatically correct, gets many

While John throws stuff against the wall to see if it sticks, right of revocation versus right to revocation must be the distinction that really matters. Gold star for that insight.

Right to rescind the right of withdrawal / revocation

I googled Reurecht + "right to" and found something quite interesting. Unfortunately the pdf file will not open for me.
If you read what appears on the results page, you will understand why I have decided that this is the required terminology for your case.
