Discussion

Adolpho J Silva (asker) Jan 5, 2017:
Hi Johannes, I am adding some more context on "aufregeln and abregeln".
"Die Ventilströme werden auf oder ab geregelt, ab diesen Motordrehzahlen".

This is part of an Excel file,covering a description of a mobile T-Winch.
Johannes Gleim Jan 5, 2017:
@ Adolpho Please provide the essential context, i.e. the relevant phrases. Otherwise, nobody can help you.

adjusted upwards/upwardly adjusted

increased

In this context I would simply say: The valve flow rates are increased and decreased, beginning at this engine speed.
Everything else sounds terribly 'translated'.

The English translation of patent doesn't sound totally correct. Maybe they meant 'fully turning on'

'fully turn on' would sound better as translation of the word 'aufregeln' on its own.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Cilian O'Tuama : doesn't sound totally correct? What do you expect of google/patents MT?

Thanks for feedback, Cilian! I didn't know anything about google/patents or that it is always a machine translation, so I had no expectations. In notes I said it didn't sound correct and gave a slightly better version, in my opinion. A lesson learnt. : )
