Sí, es posible que tenga algo que ver con las aduanas y el "insectarium" atrapado en el libro. Pero también se me ocurre que es como una pena contaminante a la que "Poe no podría acostumbrarse", o a "ciertas costumbres que Poe no pudiera aceptar".
