threaded stud

As the Schraubenzapfen (Schraubzapfen ??) must be inserted into the 6mm blind hole, it must bge a *male* part.
Peer comment(s):

agree Gareth McMillan : Partly agree- SchraubENzapfen would seem to indicate a female thread in a boss. ADD: Threaded stud is usually "Stehbolz" in German.

agree Rolf Buesken (X) : Pin or stud; preferably stud because a pin is normally without a thread.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks - It was indeed a threaded stud. In this case based on the information that you supplied the usage in the source text was incorrect. I appreciate your knowledge and penetration and your willingness to share it with me. Regards Jonathan Whiteley"

As John has indicated these Zapfen obviously locate (fassen) with holes in the housing.
I have used the word \"boss\" here as threaded stud is usually \"Stehbolz\" in German and is a different thing.
\"SchraubENzapfen indicates that the boss has also an internal thread, but this may be wrong in the text as John seems to think.

If it has no internal thread then it\'s still a \"threaded boss\" or \"locating boss\" which can also have hexagonal or square sides to aid screwing them into the parent part.
