Simplemente. Los gestores de fondos realizan unas inversiones centrándose más o menos en ciertos tipos de activos según sus convicciones. Algunas de estas convicciones podrán ser más fuertes (por ejemplo, la renta fija rendirá poco, con toda seguridad ) y otras no tanto (por ejemplo, la renta variable podría subir, pero será volátil).
