Acerca de los calcetines y las abejas

He encontrado la web donde aparece el título y el artículo de ayer, claro. Lo que sigue a lo que has puesto da muchas pistas:

"On Socks and Bees and everything in between: Navigating the Political Environment – Culture, Constraints and Controversies"

Lo que encabeza la web también:

"Successful delivery of professional and non-partisan services in a partisan environment"

Aquí el término "bees" no tiene el significado habitual, me parece...

bees = U.S. reunión, tertulia (social gathering) / capricho extravagante/ concurso (contest).

to be as busy as a bee = estar muy metido en el trabajo.

Creo que se refiere a reuniones de ejecutivos, que trabajan tanto como las abejas, o puede que "bees" sean los propios trabajadores.
Tú verás...
Podría ser:

"Sobre calcetines y trabajadores muy activos y todo lo que hay de por medio"

"Socks" sí son "calcetines" por lo que cuenta Mr Ross Cameron que le pasó en el gimnasio.

No he visto ninguna referencia a "bees" como insectos, pero tal vez se me haya escapado...
Si se menciona a las abejas como tal, entonces la traducción es bien simple:
"Sobre calcetines y abejas y todo lo que hay de por medio"

- a usual social gathering of people to accomplish cooperatively a specific purpose.

Tras esta definición se me ocurre otra opción:

\"Sobre / de calcetines y COOPERACIÓN y todo lo que hay por medio\"

El hecho de que un extraño le dejara amablemente un par de calcetines cuando los necesitaba: la ayuda, la cooperación, para contribuír al bienestar de todos, como hacen las abejas en la colmena. El reconocimiento, el agradecimiento a los que ayudan:

\"I felt it was appropriate that we as a chamber record our APPRECIATION for their professionalism and service to this parliament and to the nation\".

Al ver tu pregunta pensé: \"¿Qué tendrán que ver unos calcetines con unas abejas..?\".
Ahora creo que lo entiendo.

Como bien sugiere Cristina, creo que hay que salirse de la traducción literal y buscar una expresión equivalente en español. Esta sería mi propuesta.
