It is a sort of a cane and I have used it before (my granny simply loves it!!). However, I do not have an English name for it. How does "DIY Scratch-stick" or "Scratch-It-Yourself" sounds??? (no pun intended *wink*)
Any suggestion for a more suitable name????

I think your proposed "Scratch-It-Yourself" is excellent.
1. Although the English readers may not know what it is just by the name, it perfectly states its function. Furthurmore, the most Chinese readers do not know what it is just by the Chinese name. In another word, the English name and the Chinese name match in their vagueness and in their origin (from its function)
2. "不求人" is not exactly a stick in the sense that it is not straight.
3. If you are still concerned that the English readers would not understand the term, you may wish to add a note somewhere. By the some token, people who write the Chinese usually give some sort of explaination too.
