Spanish term

primer curso de ciclo impulsor en bienestar rural

Spanish to English Other Education / Pedagogy transcript IS from Honduras
This is a heading on a transcript, presumably from Venezuela, followed by a list of courses the student took. I was given a copy, not an original, so I can´t read the stamps or seals. The introductory paragraph also includes this phrase:

La suscrita, secretaria del Instituto Oficial Polivalente "REPUBLICA DE VENEZUELA" con código No. ___ certifica: que el alumno ___, con R.N.E. [I suppose this is national registry of students] _____, Curso I suppose it shoudl be cursó] Primer y Segundo Curso Ciclo Impulsor en Bienestar Rural, (SAT) de Corralitos, Tercer Curso Ciclo Impulsor en Bienestar Rural, (SAT) De Cantor, y Primer Curso de Bachillerato Pract. Con Orientación en Bienestar Rural SAT. De Corralitos. Correspondiente a este Centro Educativo, obteniendo los siguientes resultados:

Primer curso de ciclo impulsor en bienestar rural, Grupo 1, Jornada vespertina, año lectivo 2010

Asignatura Ordinario I. Recp. II. Recp. [I suppose Ordinario is referring to the regular test, and I and II recp are make-up or retakes of the test (recuperación).]

Discussion

MollyRose (asker) Apr 10, 2014:
Term translation I thought this would show somehow the translation of the term I chose to use, but it doesn't show. It's a modification of the best answer that I chose: First year of the "Initiative for Rural Welfare" program
MollyRose (asker) Apr 10, 2014:
I found out what it is After quite a bit of research I discovered that "ciclo" goes with "ciclo impulsor en bienestar rural," or "Initiative for Rural Wellbeing [program]." And the "primer curso" is the first year of that "ciclo de tres años," which comes directly after the first 6 years of elementary school.
MollyRose (asker) Apr 10, 2014:
US English And this school is in Honduras. I had a feeling it wasn´t really in Venezuela.

Selected

First year of the Cycle "Promoter of Rural Welfare Improvement/Development"

Se me ocurre.
My confidence level is low as regards "cycle", but I am fairly confident about the translation for the cycle's name.
Suerte.

Me alegra que te sirviera mi propuesta. Saludos.
Note from asker:
Thanks. After more research and asking a couple native Hondurans, I see that your answer makes sense. I decided to use the word "program" for "ciclo" since this word is used in the U.S. in a similar way. Community colleges have 2-year programs, universities have 4-year programs, etc.

UK or US English

Would somewhat change the choice of words as per link below. I personally would use "First module of the course", but that might not suit your context.
