leave it out - it's redundant

Hi Nadia,

It takes a bit of getting used to, but quite often when translating from Spanish into English, you just have to cut out the extraneous material to have a solid target text.

For example, try to think how the sentence would continue if you use something like "With regards to":

As regards taxes, the tax burden is sufficiently high... No, you can't start an English sentence that way.

My proposed translation:

The tax burden is (already) sufficiently high that any new increase in taxes is almost certain to result in increased (levels of) tax evasion / to result in an increase in tax evasion.

En materia impositiva, la carga tributaria es lo suficientemente alta como para apostar a que cualquier nuevo aumento de impuestos derivara en una mayor evasion.

If you include what I put in parentheses, you are going beyond a mere literal translation and really putting into the English what the Spanish means. This kind of translation is not for everyone, and I am sure some people will come along and put a "disagree" on this answer, but it is the only natural way to go in English.

Hope that helps!
