It's not typical for the United States to get involved in state murder prosecutions and the trick was figuring out what federal crime had been committed. U.S. Attorney makes an incredible discovery; the key to catching the suspect is not murder but fraud. We had to prove a fraud theory under something called the slayer's rule.
The slayer's rule is a law that makes it illegal to receive an insurance payout if you caused the claim.
