I am having some trouble translating the following sentence into Spanish...
"The wind tugged at his thinning forelock in mock deference"
The best I have at this point is as follows...
"El viento se tiró de los cabellos adelgazamiento en deferencia fingida."
It is from a novel about sailors mapping the Straits of Magellan in 1828. The translation is aimed at a readership in Spain. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
