I'm not exactly sure whether this is specifically to be translated as This Main Fuction, This Master Function or This Major Function or indeed something else. It is taken from the explanatory section of a piece of SAP code.
I am reposting this question based on the advice that I should open it up to the wider audience and add some more context in case the context helps here at all.

Given the nature of the French expression, I would translate as "Major function (...) deals with the following ABC messages", where (...) is the name of the function. I suggest dropping adjective THIS, since the name of the function itself selects one function from a group.
Why major? Because "grande fonction" is used here to highlight a function of greater importance.
Another alternative is "main function".

Why did the author use this term? Well maybe cos programs use 'functions' and the program can indeed convert several formats into others.
'Extended function' has many hits on Google in many different ways within IT but I reckon this is the general idea the author was trying to get at.
