xoa dịu khuyết hãm Thanks everyone. It's seems that xoa dịu is what gives khuyết hãm a sense of pain, so it needs to be treated as a phrase. I seems there is also understatement here. I'll go for "soothe the imperfections"

misery / agony / emotional anguish / sorrows

I don't think there is necessarily a right or wrong answer. This is poetry and it depends on how you read and understand it.

Though the word literally means flaw, I don't understand it that way in this verse. "Khuyet ham" here is referring to a feeling that this person has right at that moment. He/she is hoping that the loud noises will soothe/drown this feeling. I think it's a feeling of agony, sorrow or misery due to past experiences/flaws. So to me, this verse is not talking about the flaws themselves but the feelings that are aroused when thinking of those flaws/experiences.

Khuyết hãm thường để chỉ những khiếm khuyết của một ai đó. Tuy nhiên có lẽ ở đây ám chỉ những nỗi đau do ngoại cảnh tác động hơn là những khiếm khuyết của nhân vật.
