French term

dans le cadre de

Non-PRO French to English Bus/Financial General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
Hi,

"Les détails de cet accord seront mis à disposition des investisseurs dans le cadre de leurs due diligence."

what is posing a problem to me is the "dans le cadre de" with "due dilignece", Can I say "within due diligence"?

Thank you

Original Could you post the full sentence of the original in French throughout please, if the original was other than posted. (I realize that due diligence is an English notion and is French corporate speak).

neutral Nikki Scott-Despaigne : I find "as part of their due diligence procedures" too long and prefer "in exercising due diligence", although I would still prefer to see the full sentence in French.

within the framework of their due dilligence

Just another suggestion.
Example sentence:

We were within the framework of the procedure.

Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : Unnecessarily cumbersome in EN; and arguable if the dictionary 'framework' is really apposite here. I believe 'context' would fit better.

exercising due diligence

How about 'The details of the agreement will be made available to investors exercising due diligence' or 'as long as they exercise due diligence'?

It gets just over a million hits on google.

Just a suggestion though...
Peer comment(s):

disagree Tony M : The expression is valid, but doesn't translate the source text. There is no notion of 'as long as...' involved.

disagree B D Finch : As Tony says, the fact the expression exists doesn't make it a correct translation. How does "dans le cadre de" become "exercising"?

I was trying to find collocations for 'due diligence' other than 'within', but I see now I misjudged it, sorry.
agree Nikki Scott-Despaigne : The full original language version has not been given (yet - I have asked for it). "Due diligence" is an EN concept. "In/when exercising D.D." is possible, although not "subject to exercising DD" as it is not conditional upon anything.
