price reduction
There are many different ways of translating dégrèvement but here it is given because of a complaint by the customer (réclamation)
So at the end of the day, if the customer is right, he is given some sort of discount on the final price , compensation, exoneration etc
The trickiest thing here is actually choosing the best word amongst the myriad of possible words

: A 'dégrèvement' can be granted upon application for the amount of tax owed to be reduced or indeed waived altogether. Applications are made upon reception of the tax demand. 'Rebate' cannot work as you have to pay up beofre a rebate can be made.

validate a credit amount/allowance
Hello,
I'm not sure at all, but could this be about crediting a customer a certain amount (discount).
I hope this helps.

Perhaps there was a customer complaint (réclamation), so they've (the company) decided to a credit amount/allowance to the customer.

compensation implies a "credit", or a "credit allowance" for bad service, or if there is something wrong with the product itself. Not sure I would use "compensation" here, even if that is what is implied. You would need to provide more context to know what the best translation would be; otherwise, I am just making an educated guess based on what I have before me.
Best of luck!

Discussion
If this is tax, then you can rule out "allowance" as that is something you are entitled to as of right. "Dégrèvement" is ex gratia. "Rebate" would only work if there is return of something already paid; "dégrèvement" would not have been chosen in this case. "Relief" seems the best translation... if the contet is ta.
If not, then "discount" and "reduction" convey the right idea.
