You'll find some men in all countries all over the world with what some call a ‘military psychosis’. By this I mean that they see women as soldiers see enemy territory: something to be conquered and then held down by force, and never to be given up under any circumstances – even after divorce, such men will often continue to oppress their ex-wives in various ways.

I suppose, in popular terms, it's a kind of extreme "control freakery".
