"The diplomatic Poulenc conceived of the idea to reconcile Satie with Les Nouveaux Jeunes, by attempting to organize
an homage to the 'injured' composer that would take place at an already planned evening of the 'Art et Liberté' society
(later known as 'Art et Action'), which was to include a lecture by Satie. The Maitre d'Arcueil, however, would not have
any part of these reconciliatory efforts, even threatening to refuse to attend the event if the attempted homages were to
materialize, which he announced to Pierre Bertin by letter, adding: *** I find it revolting when someone tries to make me
