est volontaire, active, avec un ***sens profond des réalités matérielles***, et sait parfaitement être efficace et pratique. Tout en étant généreuse et intéressée par autrui, elle apprécie les biens de ce monde, le confort ainsi que l'argent, et peut se révéler une excellente femme d'affaires.

She's a "material girl", but for those who are too young to have known Madonna... Any ideas?

Come on now One can have a firm grasp of reality and be emotionally literate: In my experience the most emotionally literate individuals do have a form grasp of reality - it means, for example, that they know and appreciate their emotions but are not emotional and sentomalistic.

Nothing is important, everything matters... But. For me there is a distinct difference between a firm grasp of reality and a sensitivity to material things such as comfort, wealth, security etc. My two French friends agree that the second case is true... And I have been inclined to think so, but we might all be wrong... How sure ARE you really???

I don't see this meaning materialistic. Having a grasp of reality is not mateialistic.
