I'm not sure what that verb means in this context? What in the root or the basic past form (if not راى )?

The verb ترى is one of the three present tense variations of the past tense رأى.
رأى = he saw
رأت = she saw
يرى = he sees
ترى = she sees / you see

It's the passive form.
Note from asker:
Do we think that is can be the active form? "You may see that..." . I'm asking because at the end of the piece they say, ولو كان لديك 3 أقراص فهذا يعني وجود 6 رؤوس للقراءة والكتابة
I'm wrong. If it were be active, then the Arabic should have said ترى ان الؤوس etc.
