Yes, that's similar to the one I saw online as well. I can't remember if I've ever seen this type of lock in the UK, for example.

Exactly Ian, that's my problem, I can't find any English languages pages with something similar. The picture of the device is similar to the one in Clara's link.

adjustable tempered glass door lock

The concept of 'floating' would apply to its operation. However it is a fixed unit that can be adjusted as to its position anywhere along the edge of the glass prior to locking.

hope the accompanying picture shows up as it demonstrates how the lip is the retaining or locking feature. It is used where there are double swinging glass doors.

I fail to find any referneces on English websites using the term 'floating' for this purpose.

Removable glass door lock

From the product photo, this looks like a lock rather than a dead bolt - a bolt is a metal rod or bar. I have done an internet search and can't find anything similar on English language pages (not translated ones)
