Menominee
This is a misspelling of Menominee, a Native American tribe from Wisconsin. The name is actually an Ojibwa name meaning “wild rice eaters”. There own name for themselves in their language is Mamaceqtaw, which, like the names of many aboriginal peoples, means “the people”. Their language is related to Fox, Kickapoo, and other Algonquian languages.
