This is for a Spanish brand manual. They're talking about the little coloured circle or oval that goes behind the product name when they print on a transparent plastic bag.
I've got "window" right now, but window implies transparency I think, and this is clearly opaque ('cause the whole rest of the package is transparent). Someone has "inset" in their glossary here, but I'm not sure that works (or does it?)...Any ideas?

Can't think of anything better, and it implies opacity to me. It would also apply to other shapes besides a pastilla.

Yeah, they talk about backgrounds throughout the doc though...They're making a distinction here between a background behind only the name of the product and not covering the whole package... |

If you use Google Pictures to look up the logos of the two brands mentioned in my references, you'll see that they fit this description. The term is best known as a frame for Egyptian hieroglyphics, but it's also used in graphic design.
