English term

Misfulfill

English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
Does this verb actually exist? I'm almost sure I've heard it several times, but now I cannot find it in the dictionary. I want to translate "mauvaise exécution d'un contrat" and ideally, I'd prefer a verb.

Discussion

AllegroTrans May 3, 2011:
It's not a proper word If you want a translation for "mauvaise exécution d'un contrat" please post it as a separate question and include the whole of the sentence and tell us something about the circumstances as there are several possibilities.

misfulfill I am with cc in thinking this sounds like a Bushism. I hope it doesn't exist!

May actually well be a Brussels English neologism... Thanks for your help anyway

misfulfill Not in the standard English lexicon. Not much presence when googled, either. I wonder if it's a Bushism.

A possibility, perhaps, depending on context, if you strictly require a single verb.

Failure to fulfil their contractual obligations

Pretty sure that if you want to keep the sense of fulfil, you can use this phrase.
