Previous KudoZ question Having looked a bit closer at the previous question, the answer chosen there may well have been correct in the very different context of that question. The lorry driver concerned, in that question, could hardly have taken his case to the European Court of Human Rights if he needed tracing and it makes sense that the PV related to a search for goods. In this question, it makes more sense that what was searched for was the person upon whom to serve the notice. I think this is a situation where there are different terms in English, according to context, for the same term in French.

a warrant to search the house, the location

neutral B D Finch : wouldn't that be a "mandat de perquisition"?

disagree AllegroTrans : No, it is simply a bailiff trying to trace somebody; this is civil procedure, not criminal

a trace of address report

I think that this is what it means here. A search warrant would hardly be an appropriate tool for a bailiff and the previous KudoZ answer was based on a single IATE reference which is rated by IATE as unreliable.

"30 day trace report & employment status report. This report includes current home address, current employment status, which would include name and address ..."

"Address trace services: Trace to new address report £39.99* no success no fee - 30 days. Trace to new address report £45.00* no success no fee - 7 days ..."

neutral B D Finch : As noted above, that KudoZ answer was based on a single, low-reliability IATE entry.// Quite right, I had meant to make a neutral comment. Changed accordingly!

then you shouldn't agree:) and there were 3 agrees, so I believe that could still be considered an acceptable reference.
