I don't think "mechanism" is a close enough translation of 動作 , although the resulting meaning is probably similar. Hence I have changed to "operation".
I have also changed "shaft" to "spindle" in line with the answer for your previous question.
I'm not posting this as an answer as my suggestion is very close to Soonthon's, so I think he deserves the credit!
