Maybe it could be ticking off or crossing off or something like that? I agree, tildando has no sense in this context.

ticking off

The operator will have to read the bar code labels which each package or general pallet has and the SAP R/3 management system will cross said information with the one it possesses by ***ticking off*** in its (checklist) application as it identifies each load.

ticking (a check box)

"checking" has the disadvantage of being ambiguous. "checking off" is less so.

imo "ticking off" is less elegant than either "ticking" or "checking off"
